Rajma

Ingredients :

Rajma  (kidney beans)           :           1 Cup (soak it in water at least 6 to 8 Hours)
Cumin                                     :           1/2 Tsp.
Onion                                      :           1 Nos. Medium size (Cube cut)
Tomato                                    :           2 Nos. Medium Size (Cube cut)
Bay Leaves                             :           2 Nos.
Cinnamon                               :           2 Nos.
Cloves                                    :           4 Nos.
Green Cardamom                  :           3 No.s
Red Chilli Powder                   :           2 Tsp.
Ginger Garlic Paste                :           1 Tbls.
Salt                                         :           The required amount of salt
Turmeric powder                    :           1/2 Tsp.
Veg Oil                                    :           30ml
Water                                      :           5 Cup

How to Make Rajma :

Step 1 :

  • Take 3 Ltr. Pressure Cooker and add Rajma, 4.5cups of Water, Cloves, Bay Leaves, Cinnamon, Green Cardamom, Turmeric powder. Stir and cook on high for 4-6 whistle.
  • The rajma is done when you can easily press it between your fingers.
  • Then remove excess water.



Step 2 :

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pan(Thava)  on medium heat,
  • Once the oil is hot add Cumin Saute for a minute.
  • Add onion cook for 2-3 minutes till translucent.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and cook till raw smell goes away. This will take 3-4 minutes.
  • Once the ginger-garlic is done, add salt.
  • Tomato and Cook it 5 to 10 min.
  • Then turn off stove leave it for cooling for 5 mints.



Step 3 :

  • Take Mixer and medium size Mixer jar.
  • Add onion tomato which we leave for cooling and Blend it finely.
  • Make it  like Puree



Step 4 :

  • Heat Oil in fresh Pan (Thava) and add Red Chilli Powder and add Puree which we make earlier.
  • Stir and cook it at least 10 mints.
  • Add rajma which we cook earlier in pressure Cooker.
  • Finally add 1/2 Cup of water stir and cook it for 15 to 20 mints.
  • Add Salt if needed.



Step 5 :

  • Turn off Stove and Serve  Rajma with Rice
